I don't know how to get information support. I sent a question and I am getting
a lot of responses that have nothing to do with my question.

 Here is my problem:

I have a spreadsheet written on Open Office that I
want to use. It contains data that is linked to a
website and it's data is constantly being updated
from the website. Many people with PC computers are
using this spreadsheet.

I have a macintosh computer. I downloaded Open Office
2.4 for Mac. The problem is after I have made a
working copy of the spreadsheet, and say "yes" to
link the files, the DDE data on the spreadsheet
disappears. Do I have to do something special because
I have a Mac?

PC users do not have this problem. Does the DDE work
on a Mac?

Here are the steps that I took to open the
 spreadsheet
in OO. The instructions are as follows:

How to make a working spread sheet from the Sample:

When opening the sample spread sheet ALWAYS answer
"No" to the "This file contains links..." question box
!!!
The Sample Formats you downloaded is READ ONLY and you
need to make a working copy. Below are the steps to
follow
and ALL of them are necessary for the spread sheet to
function properly:

1. Copy/Paste the "Sample Formats" sheet to create
"Copy of Sample Formats"
2. Rename the copy to whatver you want (ie "Trade
Monitor")
3. Open the re-named working copy, Hilite all rows
from row 5 to the bottom, stopping just before the
"Market Monitor"
the click Edit at the top and select "Delete Cells"

4. Enter your commission rate in cell IV1 (first row,
top far right)
5. Enter the number of days to use for all Std. Dev.
calculations in cell IS1 (365.25 if you use calendar
days,
   252
 if you use trading days)
6. You must set: Tools>Options>Calc>General>and Check
Box: "Expand references when new columns/rows are
inserted"
7. You must set: Tools>Cell Contents>and click to
uncheck "AutoInput"
8. Rename the "Layouts" tab at the bottom for what you
want to use (ie "Open Trades"). You can also use the
additional
tabs (sheets) for example: Closed, Paper, Income,
Spec., Jan, Feb, etc.
9. DO NOT DELETE THE REMINDER SHEET!
10. Create space for trades by inserting empty rows OR
just leave the Market Monitor at the top and paste
trade
    layouts below it.
11. Copy and paste specific trade layouts from the
"Sample Layout" into your working copy "Trade Manager"
as
    needed when making new trades

I would love to talk to a "real live" person. Any
possibility of giving me a phone number to call?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. If I can't get
this to
work, I am going to have to buy a PC!

Let's not use this mailing list as a forum for political lies. The US
Constitution does not and never did make any such specification, as
can be readily ascertained merely by taking the time to read it.
