[users] Problems with Open Office

Hello, I'm in need of help with Open Office.  I just downloaded Open Office and 
I'm having trouble getting into a Word Document.  Once I open the icon for Open 
Office, I get so many places/icons to look that I'm totally lost!  Is there 
someone who can help me with this problem.  I would truly appreciate the help.
