The detaches and ends aren't carrying carrying any sort of error, that
is they are indicating a "normal" detach in which case the client
doesn't have an error to propagate.  If they were carrying errors then
my reading of the code is that the ExceptionListener would have been
called.  I'm not sure that not calling the exception listener is the
right choice... but I don't think it would have given you a much
different outcome
