Hi Michael I have upgraded the 5.3.x branch to Karaf 2.4.0. The Camel upgrade is still pending, but you can build from the sources (or download the current snaphost from http://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/snapshots/org/apache/servicemix/apache-servicemix/5.3.0-SNAPSHOT/) and test it if you wish.
