There's a good reason for that, the only difference between 1.3.x and 2.0 is the OpenChange backend ;-)

I am about to commission a new machine running SOGo and need to decide
if the pain of deploying a RC candidate of 2.0 is going to be worth
while, or commit to continue using 1.3 on it for the next four years.

If you don't need outlook compatibility, stick to 1.3 until 2.0 is released, then upgrade as usual without installing the openchange stuff.
