In the October "Analog Science Fiction and Fact" magazine one of the short stories is titled "Nigerian Scam" by Richard A. Lovett, in which the scammer really IS from "Vega", the protagonist misses seeing the scam involved, and the scammer and gets "dealt with" in the end quite um appropriately and thoroughly. In fact the scammer's end was quite cathartic.
