sure.  which is why I did the TEST in my previous post.

in any case, BOTH versions of svn+apr -- distro-packaged, and my
src-built -- fail in exactly the same way.  namely, when SVN attempts to
name-reolve with IPv6 in /etc/resolv.conf.
