You don't need an empty spec, but you do need to tell tapestry where to find your page/component classes. In your application file:
<application> <meta key="org.apache.tapestry.page-class-packages" value="com.myco.web.page"/> <meta key="org.apache.tapestry.component-class-packages" value="com.myco.web.component"/> </application> So, tapestry will look in those packages for pages/components.
