Hi, Interesting stuff. I've been working with the datefield on 2 projects and stumbled on these issues also. The fact is that i've taken a copy of the javascript and modified it to fix these 2 issues. So i have already a datefield.js that is working and fixes issues 1408 and 1409.
I could post the code here , for the JIRA guys to have a look at ?
