Thanks for that pointer. But I'm no javascript expert. I tried the
following two attempts, neither worked:

<script>
$('#myZone').on("t5:zone:update",function(){
  alert('changed');
});
</script>

Is there something obvious that I'm doing wrong?

<script>
$("#myZone").change(function() {
  alert('changed');
});
</script>
