I have the following settings in my (Windows) service configuration on the Java tab (ONE PER LINE!) -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=8086 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false I have similar settings in $CATALINA_HOME/bin/setenv.sh.
