Hello, http://localhost:8080/xwiki should work, as "localhost" always means "this computer". In your case there might be some specific configuration on your computer that has changed that (though I must say I'm no expert).
It's perfectly normal that http://myserver:8080 redirects to http://myserver:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ .
