IT Business Analyst Location: VA
Duration: 6months Rate: $40/hr What this person will be doing: Provides unique IT system analysis, design, documentation, and implementation assistance on problems, which require in-depth, state-of-the-art knowledge of a specialized IT discipline for effective implementation. Such specialized knowledge can only be achieved through intensive, extensive, and continuous application of the specialty at a level far exceeding that of the more general and broad based IT requirements of the analyst/programmer. May participate in all phases of software development with emphasis on requirements development, planning, analysis and design, and testing and acceptance phases. Prepares and delivers presentations and briefings as required by the task. Provides management with status of projects, problems or other outstanding project related issues. Establishes and maintains system security. Background and experience requirements: At least ten years of progressive experience is required in information technology system analysis, programming, or specialty. At least eight years must be intensive and progressive experience as described in the task including one year covering circumstances similar to the task requirement. Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work independently or under general direction only. Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline is required. Minimum technical skills required: Seeking a Business Analyst with technical background and extensive experience in facilitating requirements gathering sessions new development effort and documenting them using industry best practices. Experience with interpreting and documenting the business requirements given by stakeholders into system level requirements. Experience with developing web-based applications. Duties will include facilitating JADS, validating requirements with client SMEs, creating Software Requirement Specification (SRS), creating System Use Case Specifications, creating test plan and creating test cases based on the SRS.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer relationship management skills. Experince with designing user interface frameworks. Experience with Rational Unified Process (RUP). Experience facilitating requirements gathering meetings. Experience creating Use Case documentation and other related artifacts. Experience creating UML diagrams. Experience creating test plan and test cases. Experience with developing web-based prototypes/applications. Strong people management skills. Ability to maintain professional composure in difficult situations. Willing to travel (upto 10%) Desired skills:Java/J2EE application development Understanding of Relational Databases Experience with Rational RequisitePro and Rational Software Architect/Modeler.
