As I was recommending that he compliment them (which he already did), with
more emphasis on the purpose of the compliment, I cannot see how he could
possibly look like a kook.

If he were criticizing them emphatically, that would be another thing
altogether.

I shall ignore further messages regarding this matter. I don't like
participating in efforts to make mountains out of molehills.
