I know that this is off-topic, but I feel it might neverless be of interest to some list members. On Day One of the Battle of Quebec 100 demonstrators were arrested. The poice used tear gas. On day Two another 250 were arrested. On Day Two the police added a water cannon to their weaponry, and shot a few rubber bullets. About 10 protesters and 6 policemen were hospitalized. Several shops and a CTV van had their windows broken. The estimated number of protesters is 30 000, of whom 2000 are violent. So far the police are winning. Supporting demonstrations took place in Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver. There were 5000 participants in the Vancouver demonstration. Surrounded by the Battle of Quebec the Summit of the Americas seems to be going on successfully. I suggest that future Summits of the Americas be held on an ocean liner in mid-Atlantic. Joseph B.
