To all list subscribers:
This message will probably fall on deaf ears, especially the ears of
those who should heed: While this list serves to promote debate on
metric issues, it is NOT the forum for personal attacks on any of the
subscribers.
We all want to see this country become metric, but our methodologies
will vary. We certainly can and will disagree on the how to promote
metric. At the same time there is strength in our varied talents and
ways to promote metric. Therefore please be kind to your fellow metric
workers, regardless of their personal views on how to accomplish the
transition. Personal attacks are not needed and will not be tolerated.
I've seen many seemingly endless debates on what I consider to be minor
aspects of metric, some of which continue to divide us. I see we can
also disagree on the more basic issues of how to promote metric. You
will find this with any issue. Also, please remember who our real
opponents are, both those ignorant (of metric) and the apathetic (about
metric). We will win no battles by attacking them personally, but by
winning them over, treating them with respect as well.
