In this SPECIAL INTEREST SUPPLEMENT [to the Toronto Globe & Mail - Oct 16], considerable attention is paid to innovation and technology. Conspicuous by its absence was any mention of the importance (economic and safety) of adopting World standards of measurement (SI) in World Aviation. Surely, the adoption of a single SYSTEM of measurement [fuel mass, distances, speeds, altitudes and so on] should be regarded as a "MUST" in modern, international aviation.
