Can you believe it, folks?  Our old friend Steve "I sell bananas by the
pound, damn it!" Thoburn has made the January 2002 issue of National
Geographic.

In the article titled "Europe: Instant Superpower," Thoburn was mentioned as
the poster boy of Britain's eurosceptic movement.  He was quoted as saying:
"I couldn't give a toss about politics.  I've never cast a vote."

That, in my mind, destroys any sympathy I might have had for him as a
struggling businessman.  If you don't vote, you have no right to bitch about
what your government does since you didn't bother to make your voice heard.
The rest of the article was, predictably for National Geographic,
non-metric, with mentions about France's "186 mph" train and driving "110
mph" on the autobahn.  Uh-huh.  --  Jason
