No. British roads are not metric. References to roads always use miles, yards (not feet as in the US) and mph. Temperature is always (I think) in Celsius but sometimes with Fahrenheit equivalent afterwards. The Fahrenheit value is more likely to be included when it is hot, less likely when it is cold. When it comes to radio discussions about ordinary things like shopping, radio speakers reflect the same amount metric usage as the population. >Especially one that can be listened to on-line. >I'm told that some radio station called www.capitalfm.co.uk >is strictly imperial. It will not be strictly imperial. It will be a mix. Like most things in Britain, it depends on the topic and the speaker. Be careful about contrasting British local radio stations with a BBC international service. >Are you familiar with this station? Yes. It is a popular London station, hence the name. I live in London. There are a lot of music stations. I like JazzFM For talk shows, I enjoy listening to Robert Elms on BBC Radio London: www.bbc.co.uk/london/insideldn/radio/robert_elms.shtml There is a link at the left to Danny Baker You can navigate your way to listen to the station live (I think it is http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/live/fmg2.ram ) or to replays of past shows by those particular presenters.
