Can I take it then that you disapprove of the actions of the sign "correctors" and are prepared to dissociate yourself from them?

No, you can't

Can I also take it that these (more recent) incidents were a joke too?

I'll take them individually:-
...

Do you want to post more examples? They're hardly "paramilitary extremist" are they?

The examples I showed, and which you are not denying, is that you are actively involved in aiding and abetting a group of unashamed anti-metrics who are prepared to interfere with metric signs in the UK.

That group (Active Resistance to Metrication or ARM as they call themselves) interferes with signs where they can (either by direct action or the threat of it) whether they are legal or not. For example they recently removed a perfectly legal maximum height warning sign over a bridge in Lincolnshire. They may not be paramilitary but they are potentially dangerous and have no right whatsoever to meddle with such things. You, by your own admission, approve of the actions of these people.

Or maybe this forum should dismiss your messages entirely as not being serious or worthy of response.

I have had many email 'one-to-ones' with a variety of posters to this USMA site. I've said it many times, to widespread agreement, that you cannot have a decent discussion if everyone says "yes" to each other. Where is the debate in that?

In case you hadn't noticed there has been plenty of healthy pro-metric debate e.g. the "millimetres" thread.

People have repeatedly email me directly agreeing with that, some even posting such a response to this list server.

I've not seen that. Perhaps they would like to tell me now - privately or in public I don't mind which - I promise won't bite.

Do I get the idea that you don't like ideas that oppose to yours on this server?

Besides you, I have had my share of differing views from others. Of course I don't mind it. All I ask is that it be honest.

What is wrong with debate with those who may have differing opinions to yourself?

ditto the above.

As a pro-metric - the worse thing you can do is to suggest that an opposing opinion is a worthless opinion. You *need* to hear those opinions to form a valid argument to better your cause. To ignore it or try to push it out of existence does you no good.

Are you telling us that you are here to help the metrication campaigners stengthen their cause? Such sycophantic pretentions do you no good either.

It only got a bit nasty when "euric" posted there (he later became "Erin"). But just like this site he has now been banned.

(But I'm sure you'll already know that, and "all about me" from an email he sent you.)

He may have put me on the scent but the evidence speaks for itself.

He once described himself as a metric "extremist". This point of view of his is about the only one I've agreed with! May I make the assumption that you are comfortable with being associated with a self admitted metric "extremist" who has been banned from both the USMA site and the BWMA site?

Nice try but it doubt it will wash.

I'll let others decide whether I'm an "extremist". But if I'm not wanted I only have to be told so and I'll leave, I don't need to be banned.
