The Montgomery County MD school system of 140 000
students is now teaching and using the SI exclusively in its science
classes. The superintendent has told me a couple of times that he is
committed to the SI. We're making progress, so generalizations like the
one below should not be made. Our Rotary club is now giving the new
USMA SI UNITS chart in poster form to schools, libraries and others.
You'll be able to get a copy of the poster from the USMA soon.
