It seems that printed circuit boards (PCBs) are almost always designed and manufactured in inches in the US. The available board thicknesses are given in inches, and copper thickness is given in "ounces," which probably means avoirdupois ounces per square foot.

Last week I was working with a company in Canada. I emailed my designs, which are mostly hard-metric. The salesman on the phone had to translate my requirements into inches to generate a quote. Also, the company's web site is entirely non-metric. This is the second Canadian PCB manufacturer I've worked with, and the other was also entirely non-metric.

Does anyone on this list of any experience with metric printed circuit boards?

J.
