Similar topic, more depressing news: a relatively popular Facebook
application called the (Lil) Green Patch has users share virtual plants with
one another, and everyone's level of activity is scored by the number of
square feet of rainforest saved.  The application's page then trumpets how
many acres of rainforest the users have already saved.  Boo--hiss!
