I was watching The Orphanage, a great Spanish horror/suspense film, and since
I'm trying to better my Spanish I usually watch it with Spanish subtitles. But
the first time I saw the movie I watched it in English, and I was glad to see
that when reporting on the amount of snow in Northern Spain, where the main
characters were located, the English captions said "20 cm." I haven't seen any
movies translate metric measures into English ones, but I know it happens (and
I know they sometimes make conversion errors, too).
Anyway, before I begin to ramble, I was happy to see that this movie retained
the metric in the translation. Because as we all know, they would never get 8
inches of snow in Spain, they would get 20 cm. ;)
