Litres is great and should be used exclusively.  
    For larger volumes, kilolitre (kL) can be used.  A kL is also a cubic 
metre.  Neat isn't it?

  Isn't this a good enough reason to use litres.  I know how big the litre is 
in Australia, even though I have never been there.  Even if some Australians 
prefer to write liters rather than litres, this does not affect its size.

  Antigua use UK gallons

  Grenada and St Lucia use gallons but I don't know which sort.
