Hi, It does seem worth mentioning that the WHATWG URI/URL work exists, is somewhat popular, and may differ from the IETF work. How much the authors want to go into this rathole, I'm not sure.
As it's a "living standard", for better or worse, this was just edited a bit: https://github.com/whatwg/url/issues/498 the exact patch is "Clarify the web uses UTS46 and not IDNA2008" https://github.com/whatwg/url/commit/50f0b090cd89c27327402b2c51b40b260caea70d That was about a month ago. thanks, Rob
