I can't confirm the smith's thing either, but I'm pretty sure I saw Burlington Coat Factory running Linux. On Fri, 2003-02-07 at 17:55, David Smith wrote:Just got back from Smith's today (grocery store on Freedom Blvd). I didn't notice it at first, but it appears that they are running some form of X-Windows on their checkout monitors. If you look at the window border, it looks just like fvwm. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Can't confirm or deny but I admit it is fun to see what different things those sorts of things are running. In one airport I saw some computer controlled lockers and it had a WinNT bluescreen showing. I hope they didn't need to unlock any lockers. :) At the local Kroger in my hometown in Georgia, their self-checkout things are also running some sort of windows. (saw a blue screen there too). The information kiosks at the Circuit City in Georgia were running linux but I don't remember which obscure distro it was. The Continental Eticket machines ran OS/2 last time I checked. (Not sure if this is still true). Fun stuff. :)
