Actually, mail-archive does a pretty good job of obfuscating your email address from spambots by hiding it in a form (dissected) that you must click to get the real address out. Granted, if a spammer targeted mail-archive.com, they could certainly dig them out, but since joining the list a year ago with my "non-spam" email address, I haven't gotten any more spam. <snip source="http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg11103.html"> <form METHOD="POST" ACTION="/cgi-bin/Nomailto.pl"> <input TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="user" VALUE="torriem"> <input TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="host" VALUE="chem.byu.edu"> <input TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="subject" VALUE="Re: Install Fest Preparations"> <input TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="msgid" VALUE="1039277867.6782.8.camel@stargazer"> Reply via email to<br> <input TYPE="SUBMIT" VALUE=" Michael Torrie "> </snip> --Dave ____________________ BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ ___________________________________________________________________ List Info: http://phantom.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list
