Congragulations! I run Debian on my powerpc too and It runs great. A few things.
the display driver nv should work with no problem on your powerbook, Although
you may have to tweak it by hand to get the full resolution of your widescreen.
Here's an example config file that I found off of the net for a powerbook with
an ATI Rage M3 Mobility Card. If you have a Nvidia card, then we'll have to
tweak it for that. Place the attatched file in /etc/X11 on your powerbook and
then try startx. If that doesn't work, then reply and we'll go at it again.
