Just thought I would make my quarterly post about Mono.

Last night I was able to take some of the pages that I wrote for WinXP, IIS,
and .NET and configure my Linux box so they would run on RH 8.0, Apache 2.0,
and Mono 0.2. Notice: I didn't change my pages at all, they ran "as is."
It was kinda fun to serve em up! The pages were tied to objects written in
C# and VB.NET. To be fair things didn't work exactly perfect but they were
impressive.

With Mono at .20, this obviously is not ready for prime time. If Mono is
able to do what it has set out to do, then this looks like a great way to
migrate existing web pages/services to Linux. I know that we would jump at
the opportunity.

Before everyone goes, "just use php, MySQL, Apache..." I'm talking about
existing applications. Also, if you have used C#, you'll know that it's a
pretty smooth language.

I'm taking cover now...
