Yes, I'm familiar with the gentoo docs, however nothing they have addresses my problem. I haven't been successful at finding anything on the forums either, as this is not necessarily a problem, but a lack of understanding. Every other document out their for installing a cd burner doesn't apply.
My question is how the devices work under gentoo. I have very few devices listed in /dev. I have the sr* that I appear to need for the cdburner, but I only have one cdrom device, and it is a symlink to a location I'm not familiar with. I"m more familiar with redhat's dev system.
