That would be great, except that I often use vi remotely and am not
able to use gvim :)  (Actually, one of the color schemes that I've
tried unsuccessfully before was Hans' black-and-white scheme.  It
looked nice, but the error messages I kept getting were too much
bother.)

I may try "set bg=dark" and see what happens, though.
