i am trying to ween my wife off of her web-based email clients [1]. i

For windows, I find it convenient to use Netscape's mail(or mozilla's). It's pretty 
easy, although it's not Outlook, which I would prefer(it's a good piece of software, 
generally), but I don't want to pay.  It(Netscape mail) lacks a lot of cool features, 
but it is pretty trimmed down, and also does well with IMAP.
