Okay okay!!!
I certainly didn't mean to start an OS war here... I've seen enough of
those back in the Usenet day (vi vs. emacs anyone?). I'm fairly new to
this group (just signed up a few weeks ago) and don't know about any
previous "holy wars" that have taken place. I've enjoyed the list so
far, and I don't want to see it disintegrate.
My comment was intended to AVOID a rash of "[insert OS here] rocks"
types of postings. Not encourage them.
I'm one of those "right tool for the right job" types of sysadmins.
I'll use Linux when it's the right tool, but I wont try to force every
problem into a Linux mold.
