Haven't used qmail for a while (dropped it in favor of exim about 8
months ago), but I remember there being a program related to tcpserver
that you had to use to covert the tcp.smtp to tcp.smtp.cdb .  Did you
re-run that program?

BTW, this isn't an IMAP issue at all.  It's strictly with qmail (your
SMTP server).
