:)  I meant normal keys like backspace.

That may be a tribute to the excellent design of vi (did I just say
that? I mean it's a tribute to how zealous some geeks are, won't even
upgrade their text editor :).  The technology has changed, but the
editor is still the same.  Emacs is pretty darn old too.  Change is good
in a lot of places, but apparently not in text editors.
