My company, well ok, the company I work for (I don't own it yet), L3
Communications ( http://www.l-3com.com/csw/ ) is a defense contractor and one of
the largest communications companies in Utah. (The SLC division where I work has
nearly 3,000 employees.) L3 makes the data links that communicate with the
unmanned airplanes like Global Hawk (
http://www.af.mil/news/factsheets/global.html ) and Predator (
http://www.af.mil/news/factsheets/RQ_1_Predator_Unmanned_Aerial.html )As you can
imagine, we are one of the few technical industries that is experiencing
explosive growth. We've hired 30+ people a month for the last year.

Anyway, if you search their job listings in Salt Lake,

https://208.169.18.201/clients/l3/publicjobs/Canviewjobs.cfm?

you'll find that there are still 57 job openings. Consequently, this
Friday, September 5th - 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 6th -
8:00 a.m. to noon, L3 is having a Career fair. That means that if you look at
those jobs (for example they have many software engineer positions open), and
find one you qualify for, you need only to bring your resume and yourself and
the head of Human Resources here at L3 guarantees me that each of you who come
will get an interview with one of the hiring managers.

Here's a map: http://www.l-3com.com/csw/Map/

Here's a plug for L3: they have free breakfast on the first Friday of each
month, they pay me more than I am worth, you get every other Friday off, they
have a nice cafeteria, the supply closets are full of cool pens and post-it
notes, and best of all, there is a chartered bus that leaves from Payson, Orem
and Lehi each morning that goes directly to L3, so you don't have to drive.

Hey, if they hired *me*, they must really be desperate!

Good luck,

Ryan
