My wife loves the "circles" gdm theme (I think it's pretty cool
myself). However, whenever I change the line
"Greeter=/usr/bin/gdmlogin" in gdm.conf to
"Greeter=/usr/bin/gdmgreeter", I get the following results: X starts and
tries to start gdmgreeter, then stops and goes back to tty1. This
repeats four or five times, and then I get a dialog that tells me that
gdm isn't starting correctly...duh! When I change it back to gdmlogin,
it works fine again. The only error I can come up with was found in
/var/log/daemon.log:

Sep  8 18:45:38 naples gdm[1008]: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X
error - Restarting :0

Any suggestions?  Thanks,

Casey
