It's easy, since you're a grub dude yourself:

apt-get remove lilo
apt-get install grub
grub-install
update-grub
vim /boot/grub/menu.lst
update-grub

I'm not kidding. I used to be a lilo advocate, but now installing grub
and uninstalling lilo is usually one of the first things I do on a fresh
install. (The new installer that they're working on will let you do grub
from the get-go.)
