Depends on how many hosts you've got, how many people care about those hosts, how many times people check their email, how much of the data is cached at other locations, stuff like that. Lots of variables. For the CS Department, we've got 2 DNS servers, and they each get 40-60,000 lookup requests daily. Lots more when assignments are due. Less during Christmas Vacation.
