Ahh, cross posting! Everybody's favorite subject . . . :)

I doubt there is much I could say about it that as not been said
before, but I'd like to reiterate one point: attention/time
on these lists are not taken by the poster, those resources are
given by the reader. Nobody makes you read a message. If you find
cross posting annoying, remember that it is your choice to be or
not be annoyed.

I think most of us agree that it's difficult to track a topic through
multiple lists, especially if it generates a spirited discussion.
While I think there are several valid reasons for cross posting, I hope
that each of us would, in the spirit of community, recognize that
it _is_ more taxing to track multiple discussions -- and therefore
limit cross posting to only those times when we really feel it is
neccessary.

Since I'm fairly certain nobody on any of our lists is omniscient, I
suggest extending the benefit of the doubt to the cross poster, by
trying to accept that they must have a good reason for making it
somewhat more difficult for the rest of us to participate
in their discussion. (Remember, cross posting makes following the
discussion more difficult for the cross poster, too.)

Last, but not least, I propose we all take a deap, cleansing
breath -- and just let go of our anger. Anybody who needs a hug
can email me (off list) and we'll arrange a meeting place. :)

Dave
