Looking back, I was working with a bleeding-edge UML patch.  The
2.6.0-test9 source does indeed have a UM architecture target, as I
suspected.  Apparently, there have been problems that required a
``make mrproper'' in the build process to get things sane again.

But like I said, I haven't looked at it in a little while.
