Obviously, some amount of privacy is needed for some basic things, such as getting dressed. Now, recongizing that we do want the door locked when we are changing, most of us do not worry about dead-bolting or installing a special alarm it to make sure nobody breaks in while we are in the process - a simple latch would do.That's only because we assume that nobody would want to come in. The latch is a reminder to them or a signal that they should check first before going in. If I really didn't want people to see me changing and I lived with people that didn't respect the latch, I might consider more drastic measures.
