Well... You're (probably) going to start having problems once fedora uploads their extra (stable, testing, unstable) packages. You'll notice that those repositories are empty right now. The reason you'll have trouble is that there are packages (gimp 1.3 is one of them now) that both freshrpms and fedora package. You might be lucky enough to not see any instability, but there might often be dependency problems when trying to update.

If you wish that weren't so (like me) write to the freshrpms guys and ask them to coordinate better with fedora.

Actually, I suppose it's possible they've fixed those problems. I'm speaking from my .95 experience. It's very likely that at least the apt and yum packages will fight with eachother.

Hey all,

I spent some time today trying to figure out where I wanted to point my
/etc/apt/sources.list file now that I'm running FC1. I think I've got a
pretty good one. Here are all my non-commented lines:

rpm http://download.fedora.us fedora/fedora/1/i386 os stable testing
unstable updates
rpm http://ayo.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/1/i386 core freshrpms updates
rpm http://download.fedora.us fedora/redhat/0.95/i386 os stable testing
unstable updates

just make your sources.list resemble that and do:

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

or if you're really behind:

apt-get dist-upgrade

I left the fedora .95 one in there because it still has some packages newer than FC1 (synaptic). Also the freshrpms line gives you access to some good stuff.

I especially enjoyed the fact that freshrpms has gimp-1.3.22 in it now. It's pretty sweet and not that's it's an rpm you don't have to compile
it. If you haven't tried gimp-1.3 check it out, it's way cooler than
gimp-1.2

There you have it. Have fun.
