I'm not running a firewall.

And as for the kernel thing, I /think/ it's a configuration thing, because
I've gotten it to do that off an on between different installs.  I'm hoping
someone's experienced it before and can tell me how they fixed it.  If it's
a kernel thing, then I'll just deal with it (ssh from my win box works just
fine for that kind of thing).

Oh yeah, and it's samba 3.0.0
