/me vaguely remembers having this problem with RH8, but doesn't remember
the solution (if there was one)

How did you get your copy of krb5-devel? What is requiring it? You don't
need krb5-devel to do general development. If you are trying to just
select the general "development" packages, don't. Get just what you
need.

What development tools do you need?
