First off i need to say that the first unix i used was FreeBSD and i
loved it, but that was back at the beginning of version 3, then i
switched to linux (i think it was redhat 4 or 5 at the time) and have
been using liux ever since so i am MUCH more comfortable in linux, but i
am currently using FreeBSD 5.1 and was wondering if there is a way to
see the progress that your pkg_add is at, i go crazy doing a pkg_add -r
foo and seeing:
Fetching
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-current/Latest/foo.tbz
... for what seems like hours, is there another option to tell this to
show me that it is doing something so i know if my network connection
has stalled out or if the package is just really big and i am getting
sub-modem speeds?
Thanks,
-Chris
