How about the ability to store a private key on a floppy, cd-rom, or usb drive? You could just put your media in and boot and have everything be automagic. That could be very handy for keeping your workstation private. You could even have require a password in combination with the removeable media key, sort of like pgp/gpg requires for signing or decrypting email messages or files.
He he he. Employers could require that their employees tether themselves to their usb drive (like you do with the key to a ski boat or waverunner) so that if they leave their workstation, their computer is unusable. I'm not sure how useful this train of though is, but you just asked for ideas. -Brent P.S. If IBM likes our ideas and uses them, do we get our name in the credits or a thank you letter or at least one of Dr. Martinez' proverbial donuts? :-) On Thu, 2004-01-22 at 11:31, Michael Halcrow wrote: > If you could have any feature that you wanted in an encrypted > filesystem, what would it be? > > .___________________________________________________________________. > Michael A.
