I am starting to lean toward Slackware. Simple package management, no-frills, easy to reconfigure. Have not tried SuSE recently, although I used to be a big fan of it, but now with the big company behind it, eventually the sales department wins. A big publically held company goes after a buck, and the buck is much more easily earned by creating the perception of value in the eyes of decision makers with money than by creating the real value. According to the Law of the Big Corporation, only the minimal amount of real value will be created that is needed to establish an adequate perception for making the biggest buck.
