Why should we create another Open CD if it already exists? It seems like
that's just reinventing the wheel.
What doesn't exist out there (from what I can tell) is a CD with
software focused on what is important to students. There are millions of
university students in the world, and many more if you count elementary
grades. I think that the 10's of millions of users is a perfectly large
audience.
What has never happened with the SSS CD is good marketing (outside of
BYU). What we need right now isn't more software on the CD or new
interfaces, but an improved webpage, an extensive mirroring system, and
heavy announcing on sourceforge, freshmeat, etc. Heck, right now no one
even knows where the latest copy of the SSS CD is! How are we going to
get people to use it when our own members of the club are confused about
where to download it. Who cares about its name! :-)
If we want to improve the audience we at least have to let the world
know we have something. I'm sure millions of students would download it
if they knew it existed.

P.S. I want to be more than all talk. If there is something specific I
can do to help, please let me know.
